AltFTool Accounts: Do You Need to Sign In?

Do you need an account?

No, not for most things. You can browse the tool library, run browser tools, read guides and use the backlinks list without creating an account or signing in. AltFTool deliberately avoids putting public utilities behind a login.

An account is useful when a feature needs to know who you are, for example protected or saved experiences. Where a feature does need sign-in, the page will ask you at that point.

Create an account

   Open the sign-up page

   Go to Create account, or choose sign in from the account menu in the header.

   Choose a sign-in method

   Sign up with your email address and a password (at least 8 characters), or use Continue with Google where it is offered.

   Confirm your email

   For email sign-up, open the message AltFTool sends and click Confirm email. The link works for 24 hours, and you can ask for a new one from the same screen if it expires.

Signing in and resetting your password

Sign in from the login page. If you have forgotten your password, use Forgot password and enter your account email. For privacy, the page always says a reset link is on its way if an account exists, and the link is valid for 60 minutes.

Once signed in, your account page shows your email address, whether it is verified, and which sign-in methods you use. From there you can change your password. If you originally signed up with Google, you can ask for an emailed link to set a password so you can also sign in with email.

Signing out and keeping your account safe

• Sign out ends the session in the browser you are using.
• Sign out everywhere ends every session on every device. Use it if you see activity you do not recognise, then change your password.

• Account pages are ad-free and are not indexed by search engines.
