Why is AltF NetCheck's download speed lower than other speed tests?

It is a bounded test by design. A single 350 KB download over one connection cannot fill a fast link, so the figure reflects a small, realistic request rather than a peak throughput number. It is most useful for comparing runs and for spotting latency and jitter problems.

How much data does one AltF NetCheck run use?

Less than 500 KB in total: four small ping responses, one 350,000-byte download and one 96,000-byte upload of locally generated random bytes.

What do latency and jitter mean here?

Latency is the average round-trip time across the four ping requests. Jitter is the variation between them. High jitter with acceptable latency is the usual signature of a connection that struggles with calls and video even though a speed test looks fine.
