How Irish Lotto works
A line is six different numbers between 1 and 45. The pool changed on 5 September 2026, when balls 46 and 47 were retired; before that it was 1 to 47. Six main balls are drawn, plus a bonus ball from the same pool. Players do not choose the bonus ball; it is used for certain lower prize tiers.

The jackpot odds
There are 8,145,060 different ways to choose six numbers from 45, so one line has a 1 in 8,145,060 chance of winning the jackpot. Odds quoted for the old 47-ball game no longer apply.
That figure is the same for every possible line. The bonus ball adds prize tiers but does not change the jackpot odds.
Inside the generator
The browser's crypto API provides random values, which are converted to numbers from 1 to 45 by rejection sampling so that none is favoured. Six different numbers are drawn and sorted for easy reading.
Because the bonus ball is drawn by the operator, the generator does not pick one. Any extra figures shown about your line are for interest only.
