Pick 3 Number Generator

Pick 3 is the name for the daily three-digit games run by many US state lotteries. Each of the three positions is its own draw of a digit from 0 to 9, so digits can repeat and a number like 007 or 555 is a valid play. This generator picks three digits for you in one click, using cryptographic randomness so every digit has an equal chance in every position.

A random number is exactly as likely to win as one you choose, and no system can make any three-digit number more likely to be drawn. Bet types, names, prices, draw times and prizes vary from state to state, so check your state lottery before you play. Play only where it is legal for you and within a budget you set in advance.

How Pick 3 works

A Pick 3 play is three digits, each from 0 to 9. Because each digit is drawn separately, there are 10 x 10 x 10 = 1,000 possible results, from 000 to 999. Repeats are allowed, and order matters for the main bet type.

States sell the game under different names, such as Pick 3, Daily 3 or Cash 3, and may hold more than one draw a day. Rules, add-ons and prize amounts are set by each state lottery, so read your own state's game rules for the details.

Straight and box bets

A straight bet wins only if your digits are drawn in exactly the order you chose. With 1,000 equally likely results, a straight bet has a 1 in 1,000 chance. A box bet wins if your digits are drawn in any order, which gives more ways to win but usually a smaller prize.

Box odds depend on whether your digits repeat. Three different digits, such as 1-2-3, can be drawn in six orders, so a 6-way box has a 1 in 167 chance. A number with one pair, such as 1-1-2, has three orders, so a 3-way box is 1 in 333. A triple like 7-7-7 has only one order and cannot be boxed.

How the generator picks your digits

The tool asks the browser's crypto API for random values and uses rejection sampling to turn each into a digit from 0 to 9 without bias. Each position is drawn on its own, so repeats happen naturally, just as they do in the real draw, and the digits are kept in the order they were drawn.

Because order matters for a straight bet, the result is not sorted. If you plan to play a box, note whether your number has three different digits or a pair, since that decides the box type and its odds.

Hot digits, due numbers and other myths

Daily games produce a lot of results, so charts of hot and cold digits are common. Each draw is independent, and every three-digit result has the same 1 in 1,000 chance every time. A number that has not appeared for months is not due.

Some numbers are played by many people, such as repeated digits or dates. In states with fixed prizes this does not affect what you win, but in games with shared prize pools or payout limits it can. Check your state lottery's rules.

Frequently asked questions

What are the odds of winning Pick 3?

A straight bet, where your three digits must be drawn in exact order, has a 1 in 1,000 chance. Box bets have shorter odds that depend on repeated digits: 1 in 167 for a 6-way box with three different digits and 1 in 333 for a 3-way box with one pair.

Can Pick 3 numbers repeat?

Yes. Each digit is drawn separately from 0 to 9, so results like 112 or 999 are possible. This generator draws each position separately too, so repeats can appear in your number.

What is the difference between a straight and a box bet?

A straight bet needs your digits in exact order. A box bet wins if the digits come up in any order, which is more likely but usually pays less. Triples such as 444 cannot be boxed, because there is only one order.

Why can't I box a triple?

A box bet covers the different orders of your digits. A triple like 777 has only one order, so a box would be the same as a straight. States therefore do not offer a box on triples.

How much does Pick 3 cost and when are the draws?

Prices, draw times, bet types and prizes vary by state and can change. Please check your state lottery's official website for current details before you play.

Is this generator linked to any state lottery?

No. It is an independent free tool that picks random digits. It cannot sell tickets or check results, so use your state lottery's official channels for both, and play only where it is legal for you.

For entertainment and education. Random numbers cannot predict or improve the result of a draw, and numerology and astrology are traditions, not science. If you play a lottery, play only where it is legal for your age and location, and set a budget you can afford to lose. Free, confidential help: BeGambleAware (UK), 1-800-GAMBLER (US).
