Free online kanban board on a whiteboard

For personal projects and small teams, a whiteboard kanban is often all you need. SketchFlow's kanban template gives you four columns and sticky-note cards you drag from left to right as work moves on.

What is a kanban board?

Kanban is a way of managing work by making it visible. Each task is a card on a board with columns for its stage, and limiting how many cards sit in progress keeps work flowing.

Why SketchFlow

  • Sticky notes you can colour by type, priority or person.
  • Drag cards between frames; no setup, fields or permissions.
  • Autosaves in your browser as you move things.
  • Draw around the board — arrows, notes and sketches sit right beside your tasks.

How to use SketchFlow as a kanban board

  1. Step 1: Open the kanban board template.
  2. Step 2: Rename the columns if your workflow has different stages.
  3. Step 3: Turn each task into a sticky note (N) in the To do column.
  4. Step 4: Drag a note to the next column whenever its status changes.
  5. Step 5: Export a PNG for a weekly status update.

Frequently asked questions

Does the kanban board support due dates or assignees?

Not as fields. Write them on the card or use colours; for full task management, a dedicated project tool is a better fit.

Will my tasks be saved?

Yes, automatically in this browser. Save a .sketchflow file to back up the board or open it elsewhere.

Can I use it for personal to-dos?

Yes — a three-column personal kanban (To do, Doing, Done) is one of the simplest productivity systems there is.
