Free org chart maker

Need to show who reports to whom? SketchFlow's org chart template gives you a tidy three-level hierarchy with elbow connectors. Type names and roles, add people with a keystroke and export for your handbook.

What is an org chart?

An org chart is a diagram of an organisation's structure: people or roles as boxes and reporting lines as connectors, usually arranged top-down from the most senior role.

Why SketchFlow

  • Elbow connectors keep reporting lines neat as the chart grows.
  • Duplicate a box with Ctrl/Cmd+D to add a teammate instantly.
  • Auto layout in the command palette re-spaces a crowded chart.
  • Charts stay on your device, which matters for people's names.

How to use SketchFlow as an org chart maker

  1. Step 1: Open the org chart template.
  2. Step 2: Double-click each box and type the person's name and role.
  3. Step 3: Select a box and press Ctrl/Cmd+D to add a colleague, then connect them to their manager with an elbow arrow.
  4. Step 4: Colour each department with a fill from the properties panel.
  5. Step 5: Export as PNG or SVG.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import employees from a spreadsheet?

Not currently. Org charts are drawn by hand from the template, which works best for small and medium teams.

How do I show an assistant or dotted-line report?

Draw a dashed arrow between the two boxes; dashed lines are the usual convention for indirect reporting.

Is the org chart template free?

Yes, like every SketchFlow template.
