Buy and sell men's clothing, shoes and watches
Men's fashion sells well second-hand when the listing gets three things right: the size, the condition and real photos. Shoes and watches hold value best, everyday shirts and T-shirts the least. Here is what to check when you buy, and how to price what you sell.

Buying used men: what to check
- Ask for measurements, not just the size label. Brands size differently: chest width and length for shirts, waist and inseam for jeans, insole length in centimetres for shoes.
- Check collars, cuffs and underarms for stains and wear, zips and buttons for damage, and the seams for loose threads.
- For sneakers, look at the sole wear pattern, the heel counter (inside the heel) and the insole. Wear there says more than the upper.
- For watches, check that it keeps time, that the crown and buttons work, and whether the strap is original. Ask for the box and warranty card for branded watches.
- Be careful with premium brands sold far below the usual resale price. Compare stitching, logos and labels with photos on the brand's own site.
Selling men: get it ready
- Wash or clean the item first and photograph it on a hanger or flat on a plain surface in daylight.
- Add a photo of the size label and the brand tag, plus close-ups of any mark or wear.
- Give measurements in the description. It saves questions and returns.
- Unworn items with tags are worth saying so in the title.
Fair pricing tips
- Clothes lose most of their value the first time they are worn; age matters less than condition after that.
- Branded sneakers and watches in good condition with the box can sell for a much larger share of their price than shirts or jeans.
- Bundling several everyday items of the same size often sells faster than listing them one by one.
Common scams to watch for
- Counterfeit branded shoes and watches presented as originals. Ask for the bill or buy only at a price that makes sense for a copy.
- Buyers asking you to send the item first and pay later, or to pay a "delivery charge" to receive their payment.

Men: questions buyers and sellers ask
How do I know a used shoe will fit?
Ask the seller for the insole length in centimetres and compare it with a pair that fits you. Size labels (UK, US, EU) vary between brands.
How can I check branded sneakers are original?
Compare the box label, size tag and stitching with the brand's official photos, ask for the purchase bill, and be wary of prices far below what the same model resells for elsewhere.
What men's items resell best?
Sneakers, watches, jackets and branded denim in good condition. Basic T-shirts and formal shirts are harder to sell individually.
