Why the first line matters most

Every feed cuts long captions. On Instagram only about the first 125 characters show, and on LinkedIn about 210 before "see more". Put the hook, the question or the key detail in the first line, and the hashtags and links at the end.

Writing one caption for several platforms

  • Write the shortest version first (X, 280 characters).
  • Expand it for Instagram and LinkedIn with context and a call to action.
  • Use the full YouTube description for links, chapters and credits.
  • Keep hashtags at the end so the preview stays readable.
