Frequently asked questions
Which board options does this tool cover?
9: Bihar Board, CBSE Class 10, ICSE, Karnataka PUC, Kerala Plus Two, Maharashtra HSC, Rajasthan Board, UP Board, West Bengal Board. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=bihar-board) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
How is the Bihar Board percentage calculated?
Total marks in the five compulsory subjects divided by 500, times 100. For example, 344 out of 500 is 68.8%. The optional sixth subject is not added to the aggregate — BSEB uses it only to substitute a failed compulsory subject.
How is CBSE Class 10 percentage calculated?
Add the marks of your best five subjects and divide by 5 (each subject is out of 100). For example, 95 + 92 + 90 + 88 + 85 = 450, giving 90%. CBSE does not print a percentage on the marksheet, so this best-of-five average is the accepted convention for admissions and forms.
How is ICSE percentage calculated?
Average English with your best 4 other subjects: add the five marks and divide by 5. For example, English 89 with best-four scores of 95, 92, 90 and 85 gives 451 ÷ 5 = 90.2%. English is always counted, however you scored in it — only the non-English subjects compete for the best-4 slots.
How is the PUC percentage calculated in Karnataka?
Add the marks of all six subjects and divide by 600, then multiply by 100. A total of 528 out of 600 is 88%. Each subject is out of 100, so there is no weighting and no dropping of the lowest subject.
How do I calculate my Kerala Plus Two percentage from grades?
Divide your total marks by the grand total and multiply by 100 — the marks, not the letter grades, are what count. The combined higher secondary certificate totals 1200 (six subjects, 200 marks each across two years); the Plus Two year alone totals 600. For example, 1041 out of 1200 is 86.75%.
How is the Maharashtra HSC percentage calculated?
Total marks in six subjects divided by 600, times 100. Each subject carries 100 marks and English is compulsory, so a total of 482 out of 600 gives 80.33%. Grade-only subjects like Environment Education are excluded from this calculation.
What is the passing mark in RBSE?
33% — that is 33 marks out of 100 in each subject, and 33% on the aggregate. One subject below 33 means the candidate is not declared passed, no matter how strong the overall percentage is.
How is the UP Board percentage calculated for Class 10 and Class 12?
Divide your total marks by the maximum and multiply by 100. High School (Class 10) counts six subjects of 100 marks each, so the base is 600; Intermediate (Class 12) counts five subjects, so the base is 500. For example, 425 out of 600 is 70.83%.
How is the Madhyamik percentage calculated?
Add the marks of all seven subjects and divide by 700, then multiply by 100. A total of 585 out of 700 is 83.57%. Unlike Higher Secondary, no subject is dropped from the Madhyamik total.
