About this tool
SGPA Calculator
Calculate your semester SGPA using your university's grade points and credits: VTU, AKTU, JNTU, SPPU, IPU, KTU or any credit-weighted scheme.
Work out your SGPA with your university's own grading scheme. Pick a university, enter grades and credits, and get your SGPA with the grade-point table it used. This page brings together 7 separate sgpa calculator pages (AKTU, Any (credit-weighted), IPU, JNTU, KTU, SPPU, VTU) so you can compare them without hunting for the right one.
How to use SGPA Calculator
- 1
Open SGPA Calculator on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
- 2
Choose your university at the top: AKTU, Any (credit-weighted), IPU, JNTU and 3 more. On a phone it is a drop-down list.
- 3
Fill in the sgpa calculator for that university; each of the 7 options keeps its own rules, data and defaults.
- 4
Read the result, then switch university to compare. The page link keeps your university (?v=aktu), so you can bookmark or share it.
Why use SGPA Calculator
All 7 in one place
AKTU, Any (credit-weighted), IPU and the rest sit behind one picker, so switching university takes a tap instead of a new search.
Built for each option
Every university keeps its own rules, numbers and defaults rather than one generic template.
Shareable view
The link remembers the university you picked, so a bookmark or a shared link opens straight on it.
Common use cases
- Checking your SGPA the moment AKTU declares results, before the formal grade sheet is downloadable
- An engineering student entering seven subjects with 1 to 4 credits each to get the SGPA before the official grade card arrives
- Checking an SGPA from an IPU result sheet that lists letter grades but no semester average
- Converting a JNTU memo full of letter grades into an SGPA before the university publishes the consolidated result
Frequently asked questions
Which university options does this tool cover?
7: AKTU, Any (credit-weighted), IPU, JNTU, KTU, SPPU, VTU. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=aktu) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
How is SGPA calculated in AKTU?
SGPA = Σ(credits × grade point) ÷ Σ(credits) for that semester. With subjects of 4, 3, 3, 2 and 1 credits graded 9, 8, 10, 7 and 6, the credit points are 36 + 24 + 30 + 14 + 6 = 110 over 13 credits, giving an SGPA of 8.46.
How is SGPA calculated from grades and credits?
SGPA = sum of (grade point × credit hours) divided by total credit hours. For example, an A (8 points) in a 4-credit subject, B+ (7) in a 3-credit subject and O (10) in a 3-credit subject give (32 + 21 + 30) ÷ 10 = 8.3. Credits act as weights, so heavier subjects move the average more.
How is SGPA calculated in IPU?
Multiply each paper's credits by its grade point, add the products, and divide by the total credits registered. Papers of 4, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2 and 1 credits graded 9, 8, 10, 7, 6, 8 and 5 give 152 credit points over 19 credits, an SGPA of exactly 8.00.
How is SGPA calculated in JNTU?
SGPA = Σ(credits × grade points) ÷ Σ(credits) for that semester. Subjects of 3, 3, 4, 2 and 1.5 credits scoring 10, 9, 8, 7 and 5 points give 110.5 credit points over 13.5 credits, an SGPA of 8.19.
How is SGPA calculated in KTU?
SGPA = Σ(credits × grade point) ÷ Σ(credits) for that semester. Courses of 4, 4, 3, 3, 2 and 1 credits graded S, A, B+, B, C and P give 139 credit points over 17 credits, an SGPA of 8.18.
How is SGPA calculated in SPPU?
Multiply each course's credits by its grade point, add the products, and divide by the total credits registered that semester. Courses of 4, 3, 3, 2 and 2 credits graded 9, 8, 7, 10 and 6 give 113 credit points over 14 credits, an SGPA of 8.07.
How is SGPA calculated in VTU?
SGPA = Σ(Ci × Gi) ÷ ΣCi — each course's credits times its grade point, summed and divided by total credits. The grade point comes from the combined total out of 100 (CIE out of 50 plus SEE scaled from 100 to 50): O = 10 for 90+, A+ = 9 for 80–89, A = 8 for 70–79, B+ = 7 for 60–69, B = 6 for 55–59, C = 5 for 50–54, P = 4 for 40–49 and F = 0 below that.
