Frequently asked questions
Which admission options does this tool cover?
3: B.Ed, Lateral entry, Polytechnic. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=bed) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
How is B.Ed admission merit calculated?
Entrance-based states rank purely on the entrance score — UP B.Ed JEE, Bihar CET-B.Ed and MAH B.Ed CET publish rank lists from the exam alone, with graduation marks only as an eligibility condition. Universities without an entrance rank on graduation percentage, and some use a weighted mix; all three fit the formula merit = graduationPercent x (w/100) + entrancePercent x ((100-w)/100), where w is the graduation weight from 0 to 100.
How is lateral entry merit calculated for B.Tech admission?
Entrance-based states rank purely on the lateral-entry test — LEET in Haryana and Punjab, ECET in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, JELET in West Bengal — while the diploma percentage serves as the eligibility floor. Where no test is held, colleges rank on diploma marks; both fit the formula merit = diploma % x weight + entrance % x (100 - weight).
How is polytechnic admission merit calculated?
It depends on the state. Maharashtra ranks candidates on their Class 10 (SSC) percentage itself; UP (JEECUP), West Bengal (JEXPO) and Bihar (DCECE) rank on the entrance-exam score, using Class 10 marks only for eligibility and tie-breaks. Both are the weighted formula this tool uses: merit = Class 10 % x weight + entrance % x (100 - weight).
