Job Application Tracker

The AltF Career job application tracker is a free list for every role you save or apply to: company, role, stage, date applied, next follow-up and notes. It is stored only in your browser's local storage, needs no account, shows which follow-ups are due, and exports to CSV so you can move it to a spreadsheet at any time.

Job application tracker

Keep every application, its stage, the next follow-up date and notes in one list that stays on your device.

Follow-up defaults to 7 days after applying.

No applications yet. Add your first one above.

Saved only in this browser's local storage. Export a CSV to keep a backup.

How to use the job application tracker

  1. 1

Add a role as soon as you find it, with its link, so you can read the posting again before an interview.

  2. 2

Move it to Applied on the day you apply and set a follow-up date about a week later.

  3. 3

Check the Due today list each morning and send the follow-ups that are due.

  4. 4

Move roles to Interview, Offer or Closed as replies arrive, and keep notes on who you spoke to.

  5. 5

Export to CSV regularly: browser storage is cleared if you wipe site data or use a private window.

Job application tracker FAQ

Where is my tracker saved?

Only in this browser's local storage on this device. AltFTool has no copy, so clearing site data, using a private window or switching device starts an empty list. Use Export CSV to keep a backup.

Can I import an existing spreadsheet?

Yes. Import a CSV with the same columns the export uses (company, role, stage, applied, follow-up, link, notes). Rows with no company and no role are skipped.

How long should I wait before following up?

There is no rule, but many recruiters suggest about one week after applying, or the date an interviewer gave you. The tracker defaults to seven days and you can change it on every row.
