About this tool
Draft a university transcript request letter with enrolment details, copies needed, delivery mode and an enclosure checklist.
This tool drafts a university transcript request letter — the written application to the Controller of Examinations or Registrar that gets your consolidated, attested academic record issued. It captures every detail transcript cells ask for: enrolment number, programme, period of study, year of passing, number of sets, delivery mode (in person, post, email or direct-to-agency for WES-style credential evaluation) and the enclosure checklist. It is built for graduates applying abroad, filing an ECA, or completing employment verification.
Open Transcript Request Drafter on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Paste or type the text you're working with.
Choose how it should be transformed or analyzed.
Copy the finished text into your document or post.
Enrolment number, programme, study period, sets required and delivery mode — nothing for the office to send back for.
The wording changes for in-person collection, postal dispatch, digital copies or sealed envelopes to an evaluation agency.
Lists marksheets, degree copy, ID proof, fee receipt and the agency request form so the application is complete first time.
A marksheet is the per-semester or per-year grade statement, while a transcript is the university's single consolidated record of the entire programme, printed and attested by the examinations office. Foreign universities and evaluation agencies almost always ask for the transcript, not individual marksheets.
Apply to your university's transcript cell asking that the transcripts be sent in sealed, signed envelopes directly to WES, or uploaded through the WES document portal where the university supports it, quoting your WES reference number. WES does not accept transcripts submitted openly by the applicant — they must come sealed from the institution or via direct electronic transmission.
Count one set per university application that wants a sealed original, plus one or two spare sets for your own records — many applicants order 3 to 5. Ordering extras in one application is usually cheaper and faster than applying again, since each application restarts the processing queue.
Typical processing time at Indian universities ranges from about 7 to 30 working days, and each set carries a fee that varies by university — commonly a few hundred rupees per set. Apply well before your evaluation or admission deadline, and ask the office for the expected ready date in the application itself.
