About this tool
Build the originals-and-photocopies list for an exam interview, then price the sets: pages per set, total copies, signatures and photocopy cost.
This checklist builds the exact set of originals and photocopies to carry to an interview or document verification, then works out what that means in practice: pages per set, total copies, the number of signatures self-attestation demands, and the photocopy bill. It follows the rules the panels actually apply — the date of birth is taken only from the Matriculation certificate, a central post needs the category certificate in the central format rather than the state's, an OBC non-creamy-layer certificate must be current as on the closing date in the notice, and a serving government employee has to produce a No Objection Certificate at the interview.

Pages per set times the number of sets times your local rate, plus the signing time.
Central format, non-creamy-layer validity and EWS preceding-year basis, each spelled out.
NOC, name change, gap years, disability certificate and experience letters appear only when they apply.
The Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate, and for central recruitments only that. A birth certificate issued later, an affidavit, a horoscope or a transfer certificate is not accepted as a substitute, and a request to correct the date after the recruitment has begun is not entertained.
Usually yes. Two things are checked: the certificate must be in the central format prescribed in the notice, and the non-creamy-layer status must be valid with reference to the closing date fixed in that notice. An OBC certificate that was valid two years ago but has not been renewed is the single commonest reason a category claim is rejected at verification.
Self-attestation is the norm across central recruitment — you sign each photocopy yourself on the face of the page and date it. Some state boards and defence selection centres still ask for gazetted attestation, which is stated in the call letter. If yours does, book that appointment days ahead: every page needs the officer's signature and stamp.
Whatever your call letter specifies, plus a margin. One self-attested set alongside the originals is typical at an SSC or bank verification; Services Selection Boards commonly ask for three sets and a large number of identical photographs. Carry four spare photographs of the same image used in the application, because a different or much older photograph raises a query at the desk.
