Savings % = |unitA − unitB| ÷ the larger unit price × 100.
It's the cost of a single unit of measure — per gram, millilitre, piece, etc. Dividing pack price by pack quantity lets you compare products of different sizes on equal terms.
It's the difference between the two unit prices divided by the higher unit price, expressed as a percentage — so it tells you how much cheaper the better option is per unit.
