Business idea comparison
The business idea comparison puts your saved ideas side by side on the same 100-point evidence scorecard, so you can see which one has been tested more and where each is weak. Every idea is scored by the same rules, so the comparison is consistent. A higher score means more evidence so far, not a better business.

How to use the business idea comparison
- 1
Score each idea
Answer the validator questions for every idea you are considering and save each one.
- 2
Open the comparison
Select the saved ideas to see their totals, bands and dimension points side by side.
- 3
Look at the gaps
Compare where each idea is weak, not only the total, and note which gap is cheapest to close.
- 4
Run the next experiment
Pick one idea and run the experiment for its weakest dimension, then update its answers.
How it works
- Every idea is scored with the same 100-point scorecard: Problem 25, Customer 20, Willingness to pay 24, Market 17 and Founder fit 14.
- Each idea gets the same bands: 75 and above Strong evidence, 55 to 74 Promising, 35 to 54 Needs evidence, below 35 Early hypothesis.
- Ideas are read from the saved-ideas list in this browser; nothing is uploaded.
Worked example: two ideas in the same band
Idea A, an invoice-reminder tool, scores 67 (Promising): strong on Customer (16 of 20) and Founder fit (12 of 14), weak on Willingness to pay (10 of 24).
Idea B, a compliance service, scores 74 (Promising): a deposit and a clear budget give it 20 of 24 for Willingness to pay, but reach of only hundreds of buyers leaves Market at 7 of 17.
The totals are close, but the risks differ: A needs a payment signal, B needs proof there are enough buyers.
What the business idea comparison does not do
- Only ideas saved in this browser can be compared; import a JSON export to bring in ideas from another device.
- The comparison covers the evidence scorecard, not personal factors like how much you want to work on each idea.
- Close totals are not a meaningful difference; read the dimensions.
Business idea comparison FAQ
How do I compare two business ideas?
Score each idea with the validator, save both, then open the compare view to see their totals, bands and dimension points side by side.
Should I pick the idea with the highest score?
Not automatically. The score shows which idea has more evidence so far. Weigh it against what each idea still needs to prove and how cheaply you can test it.
Can I compare ideas from another computer?
Yes. Export the ideas as JSON on one device and import the file on the other.
