How to make a neon sign

  1. Type your sign

    Enter the main line and an optional smaller second line. Short phrases glow biggest; longer ones scale down to fit the wall.

  2. Choose the tubes

Is the neon sign text generator free?

Yes. You can make and download as many neon designs as you like as PNG or JPG, with no sign-up and no watermark beyond a small site credit.

Does the downloaded image keep the glow?

Yes. The glow is part of the picture, so the PNG looks just like the preview. Only the flicker animation is left out, because images do not move.

Can I use any colour I like?

Pick Custom colour as the neon colour and choose any shade with the colour picker. The second line can use the same colour or one of the preset tubes.

Can I use this to plan a real neon sign?

It is a handy way to try wording, colours and layouts before you talk to a sign maker. Real signs are bent from glass or LED tubes, so the final lettering will differ a little.

Can I turn the flicker off?

Yes. Switch off the Flicker toggle. The flicker also stays off automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.
