Gmail inbox automation inside your own signed-in browser
6 min read
Gmail inbox automation means letting a tool work through your own unread messages in a Gmail tab you are already signed in to: finding mail from chosen senders, opening it, and optionally replying or opening links. The extension does this inside Chrome, page by page, without ever asking for your Gmail password. It is meant for your own mailboxes, for example to check how your own campaigns land and render.
How the extension works in Gmail
Gmail shows your inbox as numbered pages rather than one endless list. The extension follows that structure: it reads the unread rows on the current page, then moves to the next page until it reaches the limit or date range you set in Settings.
Because it runs in a normal Chrome tab, it uses the session you already have. There is no separate login, no OAuth grant to a third-party server and no stored password. If you sign out of Gmail, the automation simply has nothing to work with.
What you can automate
Each run is driven by filters you control. Typical uses are checking that a newsletter you sent arrived, confirming that links in your own campaign open correctly, or working through a backlog of notifications from a specific sender.
- Scan unread messages and match them by sender or by campaign
- Open matching messages and keep them open for a configured reading time
- Optionally open links inside the message or send a reply
- Record every action in a local activity log you can review afterwards
Sensible limits and pacing
Settings let you cap how many messages are processed per run, add delays between actions, set retries and restrict the date range. Conservative values keep the browser responsive and make the activity look like the ordinary reading pattern it is meant to represent for your own account.
Google's terms of service apply to how you use your account. Automated activity may be restricted by those terms, so you remain responsible for how you configure and use the extension.
What it is not for
The extension is not a way to inflate opens or clicks on other people's campaigns, and it is not a bulk sender. If you are trying to improve how your real campaigns perform, the lasting fixes are authentication, consent-based lists and relevant content, which are covered in the deliverability guides.
Step by step
- 1Sign in to Gmail. Open Chrome, use the profile you want to automate and sign in to your own Gmail account as usual.
- 2Open the extension. Click the extension icon and confirm that the Gmail tab is detected as the active provider.
- 3Set filters. Choose the senders or the connected campaign whose messages you want processed.
- 4Configure Settings. Set the message limit, reading time, delays, retries and date range before starting.
- 5Run and review. Start the run, let it page through the inbox, then check the local activity log for what was opened.
Frequently asked questions
Does the extension need my Gmail password?
No. It works inside a Gmail tab you are already signed in to and never asks for or stores your password.
Why does it move through Gmail page by page?
Gmail displays the inbox as paginated pages, so the extension reads one page of unread rows and then advances, until it reaches your configured limit or date range.
Can I use it on someone else's Gmail account?
It is designed for mailboxes you own or are authorised to manage. Using it on accounts you do not control is not a supported use.
