Using multiple Chrome profiles to manage several mailboxes

5 min read

Multiple Chrome profiles let you keep each mailbox you own in its own isolated browser environment, with separate cookies, sessions, extensions and settings. That makes it the cleanest way to run inbox automation across several accounts. The extension supports multiple Chrome profiles, each with its own configuration and optional proxy.

Why profiles beat multi-login

Signing in to several accounts in one profile shares cookies and can cause the wrong account to be active in a tab. Separate profiles avoid that: each has its own sign-in, history and extension storage.

Profiles also keep the extension's settings and activity log separate, so a run in one mailbox never mixes with another.

Organising your profiles

A simple naming scheme saves time once you have more than a few profiles.

  • Name each profile after its mailbox or role, for example Gmail seed or Outlook support
  • Give each a distinct theme colour so windows are easy to tell apart
  • Load the unpacked extension in each profile that needs it
  • Assign a proxy per profile only if you have a legitimate need for it

Licensing and limits

The extension uses a one-time lifetime license. Check the pricing section for how many profiles a plan covers before setting up a large number.

Running many profiles at once uses more memory and CPU. Stagger runs and use reasonable delays so each mailbox behaves like an ordinary session.

Step by step

  1. 1Create a profile. Click your profile picture in Chrome, choose Add, and give the profile a clear name and colour.
  2. 2Sign in to the mailbox. In the new profile, sign in to the single mailbox you want it to manage.
  3. 3Load the extension. Open chrome://extensions in that profile, enable Developer mode and load the unpacked folder.
  4. 4Configure per profile. Set filters, limits and delays, and optionally a proxy, for that profile's mailbox.
  5. 5Repeat for each mailbox. Create one profile per owned mailbox so sessions and settings stay isolated.

Frequently asked questions

Can one Chrome profile automate two mailboxes?

It is better not to. One mailbox per profile keeps sessions, settings and logs cleanly separated.

Does each profile need its own license?

Profile coverage depends on your plan. Check the pricing section for what your license includes.

Do profiles share the extension's activity log?

No. Extension storage is per profile, so each profile keeps its own local log and settings.
