Etsy: what to know before you buy

Etsy is an online marketplace where independent sellers list handmade products, vintage items and craft supplies. Shoppers buy directly from individual shops, so prices, shipping and return policies vary from seller to seller. It is a popular place for personalised gifts, home decor, jewellery and one-of-a-kind items. Checking each shop's policies and reviews is part of buying well on Etsy.

Can I return an Etsy purchase?

Returns depend on each shop's policy. Check the shop's policy before buying, especially for personalised items.

Is buying on Etsy safe?

Etsy has buyer protection for eligible orders. Check the current terms and buy through Etsy's checkout rather than paying sellers off-platform.
