About this tool
Visa Appointment Checklist
What to carry to your VFS Global, BLS International, US consulate, UK VAC or Canada VAC appointment in India, with rules on phones, bags and documents.
Arrive with everything the centre asks for. Pick your appointment centre and tick off documents, photos and rules before you leave home. This page brings together 5 separate visa appointment checklist pages (BLS International, Canada VAC (India), UK VAC (India), US Consulate (India), VFS Global) so you can compare them without hunting for the right one.
How to use Visa Appointment Checklist
- 1
Open Visa Appointment Checklist on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
- 2
Choose your centre at the top: BLS International, Canada VAC (India), UK VAC (India), US Consulate (India) and 1 more. On a phone it is a drop-down list.
- 3
Fill in the visa appointment checklist for that centre; each of the 5 options keeps its own rules, data and defaults.
- 4
Read the result, then switch centre to compare. The page link keeps your centre (?v=bls-international), so you can bookmark or share it.
Why use Visa Appointment Checklist
All 5 in one place
BLS International, Canada VAC (India), UK VAC (India) and the rest sit behind one picker, so switching centre takes a tap instead of a new search.
Built for each option
Every centre keeps its own rules, numbers and defaults rather than one generic template.
Shareable view
The link remembers the centre you picked, so a bookmark or a shared link opens straight on it.
Common use cases
- Count the photocopies to print the night before a Spain visa appointment with a 12-page document checklist.
- Find the time to set off for a 10:00 biometric slot when the centre is 45 minutes away in peak traffic.
- Work out the exact time to leave home for a 09:30 slot when the centre is an hour away across city traffic.
- Work out what changes between the OFC biometrics visit and the interview two days later, so you do not carry the wrong file to either.
Frequently asked questions
Which centre options does this tool cover?
5: BLS International, Canada VAC (India), UK VAC (India), US Consulate (India), VFS Global. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=bls-international) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
What documents do I need for a BLS International appointment?
Carry the printed appointment confirmation with its barcode, the centre's own document checklist ticked and signed, your original passport, the signed application form, every supporting document listed, and a self-attested photocopy of each sheet. Bring the fee in the exact form that centre accepts — payment policy is set locally and personal cheques are typically refused.
How much are Canada biometrics from India?
CAD 85 per person for biometric collection. A family applying at the same time pays a maximum of CAD 170 in total, and a group of three or more performing artists pays a maximum of CAD 255. The fee is paid with the application, not in cash at the centre.
How early should I reach the UK visa application centre in India?
About 15 minutes before your slot. Centres run to the booked appointment time, so arriving very early normally just means waiting outside, while arriving late can cost you the slot and a rebooking fee.
What should I carry to a US visa interview in India?
Bring the printed interview appointment confirmation, the DS-160 confirmation page with its barcode, your current passport plus every old passport, the visa fee receipt, and your category document — Form I-20 for F and M, DS-2019 for J, or the I-797 approval notice for petition-based categories. F, M and J applicants also need the SEVIS I-901 fee receipt. Carry financial evidence and proof of ties to India even if you are never asked for them.
What do I need to take to a VFS Global appointment?
At minimum: the printed appointment confirmation, your original passport plus older ones, photocopies of the bio page and previous visas, the signed application form, the full supporting-document file unstapled, and a way to pay both the visa fee and the VFS service fee. Anything held only in your email or on your phone is a risk, because phones are frequently taken at security.
