This checklist turns the instructions printed on the UPSC e-Admit Card into a tickable list and a reporting plan. It separates the entry-critical documents — the printed admit card, the photo ID whose number appears on it, and a black ball point pen — from the merely useful, and works the clock backwards from the Commission's rule that no candidate is admitted after the entry closing time, ten minutes before a session begins. Civil Services Preliminary day has two two-hour sessions, so the plan can be run once for the forenoon paper and again for the afternoon.

A printed copy of the e-Admit Card and the original photo identity card whose number is quoted on that admit card. If the admit card carries no photograph or an unclear one, carry an identical passport photograph for each session along with proof of identity.
Ten minutes before the session begins — so 9:20 am for a 9:30 am paper and 2:20 pm for a 2:30 pm paper. Candidates are not admitted after that time under any circumstances, which is why the plan here counts backwards from gate closing rather than from the start of the paper.
No. Mobile phones, bluetooth devices, smart or digital watches, calculators and any other communication or storage gadget are barred inside the premises, and centres make no arrangement to keep them. Leave them at home or with someone outside.
