In recent cycles the Tier-I computer-based exam has run in multi-day September windows, with Tier-II following in December or January. SSC announces exact dates in its calendar and the admit card, and windows can shift — treat the pattern as a default and confirm on ssc.gov.in.
Serious aspirants commonly complete 20 to 40 full-length mocks before Tier-I, at a cadence of roughly 2 to 4 per week with a full error-log review after each. The arithmetic matters more than the target: at 3 mocks a week, 50 remaining days fit about 21 mocks — this tool computes the number for your exact date.
A widely used rule is to stop once half of your remaining time has elapsed and spend the rest consolidating — mocks and previous-year papers to about 80% of the time, focused revision of the error log to 95%, and only light recall in the final days. Typically around three to four months: a September Tier-I has recently been followed by a December-January Tier-II, with Tier-I results in between. That gap is the dedicated window for Tier-II's tougher quantitative and English syllabus, so most toppers begin Tier-II preparation before the Tier-I result arrives.
