About this tool
Build a season-by-season home maintenance checklist tuned to your climate zone, home type and the systems you actually own.
This checklist generator turns your climate zone, home type and installed systems into the specific maintenance jobs that matter for a given season, each with a priority and a realistic time estimate. Seasons follow the India Meteorological Department's four-season calendar — winter (Jan–Feb), pre-monsoon (Mar–May), southwest monsoon (Jun–Sep) and post-monsoon (Oct–Dec) — and zones follow the five-zone climate classification used by the National Building Code of India. It is for homeowners and tenants who want a short, ordered list instead of a generic hundred-item checklist written for another continent.

Jobs appear only if your zone, home type and installed systems make them relevant.
Safety-critical items such as the LPG hose and earth-leakage test sit at the top of every list.
Each task carries a minute estimate, so the whole season rolls up into half-day sessions you can schedule.
Clear every roof drain, gutter, balcony outlet and window weep hole first, then seal external wall cracks, test the ELCB or RCCB with its own test button, and book anti-termite treatment. Terrace waterproofing has to be applied and cured before the first rain, so aim to finish it in May.
A full service — coil cleaning, drain flush and gas pressure check — once a year before the summer season, plus filter washing every two to four weeks during heavy use. A fouled condenser coil can add roughly 15–25% to running cost, so the service usually pays for itself.
The National Building Code splits India into hot-and-dry (Jaipur, Ahmedabad), warm-and-humid (Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata), composite (Delhi, Lucknow), temperate (Bengaluru, Pune) and cold (Shimla, Srinagar). Zones are set by mean monthly temperature and relative humidity, so pick the listed city closest to your own conditions.
For a typical two- or three-bedroom flat, one season's list runs roughly six to nine hours of hands-on work — about two half-day sessions. An independent house adds terrace, drainage and exterior painting jobs, which can double that in the post-monsoon window.
