Running feet is a length along the wall, not an area: square feet equals running feet multiplied by the height of the unit. This converter takes each run of a modular kitchen or wardrobe job, turns it into square feet and square metres, and then prices the same job twice — once at a rate per running foot and once at a rate per square foot — so two quotes written in different units can finally be compared. It also shows what a flat per-running-foot rate really charges per square foot on each run, which is where a 2.5 ft base unit and a 7 ft wardrobe differ sharply.

Multiply the running feet by the height of the unit in feet. A 10 running feet wardrobe 7 feet tall is 70 square feet. Running feet alone cannot be converted — without a height it is a length, not an area.
It depends entirely on the height being quoted. At Rs 1,800 per running foot, a 7 ft wardrobe works out to about Rs 257 per square foot, but a 2.5 ft base unit works out to Rs 720 per square foot. Convert both quotes to the same unit on your actual runs before deciding.
Trade practice, not a standard: base units are usually quoted around 2.5 ft of carcass under a 3 ft counter, wall units at 2 to 2.5 ft, and tall units and wardrobes at about 7 ft. Because it varies between firms, ask which height the rate assumes and put that figure into the calculation.
It equals the height of the unit in feet. One running foot of a 7 ft wardrobe is 7 sq ft; one running foot of a 2 ft loft is 2 sq ft. That is why quotes in the two units are not directly comparable.
