About this tool
Find whether your PMMY Mudra loan falls under Shishu, Kishore, Tarun or Tarun Plus, with the limits and eligibility checks that apply.
The Mudra Loan Category Selector places a proposed loan into the correct Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana slab purely by sanctioned amount — Shishu up to ₹50,000, Kishore ₹50,001 to ₹5 lakh, Tarun ₹5,00,001 to ₹10 lakh and Tarun Plus ₹10,00,001 to ₹20 lakh — then applies the scheme's eligibility conditions on top. It is for micro-entrepreneurs, shop owners and self-employed professionals who want to know which slab to ask their bank for before they walk in.

Uses the inclusive PMMY bands, so ₹50,000 is Shishu and ₹50,001 is Kishore — no rounding surprises.
Lists every scheme condition that fails: entity type, purpose, age, default status, missing prior Tarun loan.
Applies the standard reducing-balance instalment formula so you can sanity-check affordability alongside the slab.
Shishu covers loans up to ₹50,000, Kishore ₹50,001 to ₹5 lakh, Tarun ₹5,00,001 to ₹10 lakh, and Tarun Plus ₹10,00,001 to ₹20 lakh. Tarun Plus was announced in the July 2024 Union Budget and operationalised on 24 October 2024.
Only entrepreneurs who have already availed and fully repaid a loan under the Tarun category. Below ₹10 lakh no prior Mudra loan is required, so Shishu, Kishore and Tarun are open to first-time borrowers.
No. PMMY loans are extended without collateral or third-party guarantee; credit risk is covered by the Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro Units (CGFMU), administered by NCGTC.
Crop cultivation and farm-land purchase (financed instead through the Kisan Credit Card), any personal spending such as a wedding or debt payoff, and any corporate borrower — PMMY covers only the non-corporate, non-farm micro enterprise segment. Activities allied to agriculture such as dairy, poultry and fishery are covered.
