About this tool
Work out petrol or diesel cost per km, for a bike, a daily commute or a road trip, split fuel between riders, and see what the car AC adds.
Pick what you want to cost, enter distance, mileage and fuel price, and see the total. This page brings together 6 separate fuel cost calculator pages (Bike, Car AC impact, Daily commute, Per km, Split between riders, Road trip) so you can compare them without hunting for the right one.
Open Fuel Cost Calculator on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Choose your trip at the top: Bike, Car AC impact, Daily commute, Per km and 2 more. On a phone it is a drop-down list.
Fill in the fuel cost calculator for that trip; each of the 6 options keeps its own rules, data and defaults.
Read the result, then switch trip to compare. The page link keeps your trip (?v=bike), so you can bookmark or share it.
Bike, Car AC impact, Daily commute and the rest sit behind one picker, so switching trip takes a tap instead of a new search.
Every trip keeps its own rules, numbers and defaults rather than one generic template.
The link remembers the trip you picked, so a bookmark or a shared link opens straight on it.
6: Bike, Car AC impact, Daily commute, Per km, Split between riders, Road trip. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=bike) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
Divide the distance by your mileage in km/l to get litres, then multiply by the pump price. A 24 km return ride on a bike doing 45 km/l uses 0.53 litres, which is about ₹56 at ₹105 a litre.
Typically 10–20% in city driving and 5–10% on a highway. The compressor draws roughly the same power per hour either way, so the penalty is proportionally much bigger when the engine is otherwise doing little — a car at 16 km/l crawling at 30 km/h in 38°C heat loses about 19%, while the same car at 80 km/h loses about 8%.
Multiply the daily distance by commute days in the month, divide by your mileage in km/l, then multiply by the fuel price. For a 36 km round trip at 16 km/l on 21.67 days a month with fuel at ₹105/l, that is 780 km ÷ 16 = 48.75 litres, or about ₹5,119 a month.
Divide the price of one litre by the mileage in kilometres per litre. Petrol at Rs 105 a litre in a car doing 18 km per litre costs Rs 5.83 of fuel per kilometre. For CNG use price per kilogram and km per kilogram, and for an electric vehicle use the tariff per kWh and km per kWh.
Split by the distance each person actually travelled, not by head count. On a ₹5,000 trip covering 600 km, two full-distance riders and one who rode 300 km share 1,500 person-km, so the full riders pay ₹2,000 each and the half rider ₹1,000.
Divide total distance by your effective mileage to get litres, then multiply by the pump price. For 1,000 km at 16 km/l and ₹105 a litre that is 62.5 litres and about ₹6,563 — before tolls, and before adjusting the mileage for hills, traffic or the AC.
