Sign in to your LG Account and manage LG Channels
An LG Account unlocks personalized recommendations, app purchase history, and syncing across LG devices, while LG Channels is a built-in free ad-supported live TV service that runs without any extra hardware or subscription.
What you should know
- Go to Settings (gear icon) > All Settings > General > LG Account and select Sign In, then follow the prompts to create or log into an existing LG Account.
- Once signed in, app purchases and some preferences can sync if you use webOS on more than one LG TV.
- Open LG Channels from the Home Dashboard or by pressing the dedicated Channels button (if present) on the Magic Remote.
- Reorder or hide individual LG Channels stations from within the LG Channels app's channel guide settings.
Why it matters
Signing into an LG Account is required to download most paid apps from the Content Store and to use certain LG-connected services, so accounts that skipped sign-in during initial setup often hit a wall the first time they try to install an app.
Best practices
- Use the same LG Account across multiple LG TVs in the household to keep app installs and preferences consistent.
- Bookmark or reorder frequently watched LG Channels stations near the top of the guide for quicker access.
Common problems and fixes
- Can't download an app from the Content Store
- Confirm you're signed in under Settings > General > LG Account — most apps, free or paid, require an active sign-in to install.
- LG Channels shows a blank guide or won't load
- Check the internet connection, since LG Channels streams over the internet rather than through an antenna or cable feed.
Tips and tricks
- LG Channels content and lineup vary by region, so the exact stations available depend on the country set during TV setup.
