AltF DomainOps
Domain expiry date check
DomainOps reads the expiry date from the registry's RDAP server, the official source behind every WHOIS site, and counts the days left. It also shows the registrar, whether transfer lock is on, and every status code with what it means, so you can tell an auto-renewal grace period from a domain about to be deleted.

What happens when a domain expires
- Day 0: the registrar may park the domain or stop DNS; many renew automatically.
- Up to about 45 days: auto-renew grace period. You can usually renew at the normal price.
- Next 30 days: redemption period. The domain is deleted but can be restored, typically for a fee.
- Then 5 days: pending delete. Nothing can stop it; the name is released to the public.
Keep it safe
- Turn on auto-renew and keep the card on file current.
- Use an email address for the registrar account that is not on the domain itself.
- Turn on transfer lock (clientTransferProhibited) and two-factor sign-in at the registrar.
- Add the domain to the DomainOps watchlist to see the countdown at a glance.
Domain expiry check: questions and answers
Is the expiry date the same as on WHOIS sites?
Yes, it comes from the same registry. RDAP is the structured format ICANN now requires for generic domains. Some country-code registries publish no RDAP; DomainOps then says it could not check rather than guessing.
The expiry date jumped forward a year but I did not renew. Why?
Many registries auto-renew at the registry level on the expiry date and show the new date, even if your registrar later deletes the domain for non-payment. The autoRenewPeriod status shows this grace window.

AltFTool does not store the domains or addresses you check. DNS lookups in the DNS, compare, email and IP tools run from your browser; registration, report and certificate checks pass through AltFTool's server and keep nothing.
