Pranx Studio

Open harmless simulated screens for demos and good-natured jokes.

Pranx is a free collection of harmless simulated screens and small games that run as ordinary web pages. It is for good-natured office jokes, video props, demos and nostalgia, not for scaring anyone into real action. You get terminal simulators, fake update and warning screens, screensaver animations and playable browser games, most of them with a fullscreen mode.

Features

What you can do with Pranx Studio

Terminal and system simulators

Hacker Typer, a DOS-style prompt, a BIOS setup screen, a Norton Commander style file manager, a tiny Windows XP desktop and a Jurassic Park style control console.

Fake update and warning screens

Windows, macOS and generic update screens with progress controls, a blue screen simulator, a fake virus scan and an FBI warning screen.

Screensavers and animations

Matrix code rain, a pipes screensaver, a bouncing DVD logo and TV static, with speed and colour controls.

Playable browser games

Minesweeper, a falling blocks game and a maze runner, plus a soundboard and a cursor-following troll face.

Fullscreen with an easy exit

Open a screen in fullscreen and press Esc at any time to leave. Nothing is downloaded or installed and no computer settings change.

FAQ

Pranx Studio questions

Is Pranx safe?

Yes. Every prank is a normal web page. Nothing is downloaded or installed, and Esc leaves fullscreen at any time.

Can I use it to trick someone into paying or installing something?

No. The terms forbid using the simulators to frighten anyone into paying, sharing passwords, installing software or acting against their interests, or on machines you do not have permission to use.

Is it free?

Yes. A few simulators open straight away, and the rest of the gallery unlocks when you join the email list. Each prank's own page can also be opened directly.

Does it work on a phone?

Many screens work in a mobile browser, and the maze game has touch buttons, but the keyboard-driven simulators are best on a computer.
