Open ExpensifyXpenser's insight was that expense capture fails at the moment of purchase, not at the reporting stage, so it accepted an expense from SMS, email, instant message or a voicemail transcription. Everything since has converged on photographing the receipt instead. The service is gone.

Yes. Xpenser sends your input to its own servers to process it. That is fine for public material; for anything containing personal data, use one of the on-device tools instead.
