CloudConvert covers 212 formats, including CAD, ebook, archive and font types that a browser has no decoder for. That breadth is the product and it is not something we approach. What a browser can do is the short head of the distribution: HEIC to JPG, WebP to PNG, images to PDF, PDF to images, CSV to JSON. Those are the conversions that burn CloudConvert's ten free credits a day, and they need no server at all. For anything outside that list, their credits are cheap and the isolated-container architecture is well engineered.
