The Wrist Stretch Routine Timer runs a guided sequence of wrist, forearm and finger stretches with per-side holds and changeover gaps, counting each one down for you. Hold lengths follow the ACSM flexibility guidance of 10 to 30 seconds per static stretch, and the routine is sized to fit inside the short keyboard break that computer-workstation guidance suggests taking every 30 to 60 minutes. It is built for people who type or mouse for hours: developers, writers, designers, data entry staff and gamers.

Choose a Routine — "Quick reset", "Standard routine" or "Full session" — each listed in the select with the stretches it covers.
Set "Hold each stretch (seconds)" between 10 and 60 (30 by default) and "Changeover gap (seconds)" up to 30, and tick "Include median nerve glides (full session only)" if you want them.
Press Start and the panel counts down "Time left in this step" beside the stretch name and its positioning cue; "Next step" skips ahead, Reset restarts the timer, and "Copy routine" copies the whole sequence.
Per-side stretches are timed separately, so the weaker wrist gets the same hold as the stronger one.
Each step carries a positioning cue, so you are not guessing what the stretch should feel like.
Hold length, changeover gap and routine depth all change the plan and its total time live.
10 to 30 seconds per stretch is the standard range in the ACSM position stand on flexibility, repeated two to four times for a total of about 60 seconds per muscle group. This timer defaults to 30-second holds on each side, which is the upper end of that range.
Aim for a short break away from the keyboard roughly every 30 to 60 minutes, which is the interval in NIOSH and OSHA computer-workstation guidance. Running the quick 2 to 3 minute routine two or three times across a working day is a realistic starting point.
Stretching has not been shown to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome on its own. It can ease general stiffness and forearm tightness, but persistent numbness, tingling or night-time hand pain in the thumb, index and middle fingers needs a clinical assessment rather than more stretching.
It is a slow movement that slides the median nerve through the wrist and forearm rather than a held stretch, which is why it is optional here and off by default. Nerve glides should feel like a light pull only — if the movement produces tingling, numbness or shooting pain, stop and speak to a clinician or hand therapist.
