About this tool
Free online voice changer: record or upload audio, apply robot, chipmunk, deep, echo, reverb, telephone or alien effects, preview live and save as WAV.
This voice changer records from your microphone or opens an audio file, then runs it through a Web Audio effect chain you can hear while you adjust it. Pitch can move ±12 semitones either tape-style (faster and higher, like a chipmunk) or with duration kept, using a WSOLA time-stretch followed by resampling. On top sit a ring modulator for robot voices, band-pass filters and soft-clip distortion for telephone and radio, an LFO-driven delay for vibrato, a feedback echo, a convolution reverb built from a generated impulse, an envelope-shaped noise whisper and reverse. The finished clip is rendered with OfflineAudioContext and saved as a 16-bit WAV. Nothing is uploaded.
Open Voice Changer on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Press Record (or R) and allow the microphone, or use Choose audio to open an MP3, WAV, M4A or WebM file up to 10 minutes long.
Pick a voice effect such as Robot, Chipmunk, Deep voice or Telephone and press Play with effect (Space) to hear it.
Open Fine-tune settings to adjust Pitch (±12 st), Keep speed or Tape mode, Echo, Reverb, Robot frequency and Output volume.
Press Render WAV, check the clip in the player, then press Download WAV or Share.
Start from Robot, Chipmunk, Helium, Deep, Monster, Alien, Echo, Reverb hall, Cave, Telephone, Old radio, Megaphone, Underwater, Whisper, Ghost, Slow motion or Reverse, then fine-tune any parameter.
Preview restarts from the current position whenever you change an effect or slider, and you can click the waveform to jump anywhere in the clip.
Recording, effects and the WAV export all run in your browser with the Web Audio API. Your voice never leaves your device.
Export a 16-bit WAV with echo and reverb tails included and trailing silence trimmed, then download it or share it from your phone.
| Preset | Processing |

| Chipmunk | +8 semitones, tape mode (plays ~1.6× faster) |
| Helium | +7 semitones, original timing kept |
| Deep voice | −5 semitones, original timing kept |
| Monster | −9 semitones + distortion + short reverb |
| Robot | 30 Hz ring modulation + 60 ms metallic echo |
| Alien | +3 semitones, 7 Hz vibrato, 160 Hz ring mod |
| Telephone | 400 Hz–3.4 kHz band-pass + light distortion |
| Old radio / Megaphone | Narrow band-pass + heavier distortion |
| Echo / Cave | Feedback delay (320–450 ms), long reverb for Cave |
| Whisper | Noise shaped by the voice envelope, 700 Hz low cut |
Every preset is a starting point — all values can be changed in Fine-tune settings.
Yes, it's free with no sign-up or watermark. Everything runs in your browser: the microphone recording, the effects and the WAV export use the Web Audio API locally, and no audio is sent to a server. Closing the tab discards the clip; only your last chosen effect settings are remembered on this device.
Press Record and allow microphone access, say something, then press Stop. Choose an effect like Robot or Deep voice and press Play with effect to listen. When it sounds right, press Render WAV and then Download WAV. You can also upload an existing audio file instead of recording.
Choose the Robot preset. It multiplies your voice by a 30 Hz sine wave (ring modulation) and adds a short metallic echo — the classic sci-fi robot sound. In Fine-tune settings, raise Robot frequency towards 100–150 Hz for a buzzier robot, or lower the Robot mix to keep more of your natural voice.
Pick Deep voice for a 5-semitone drop with the original timing kept, or Monster for a 9-semitone drop with distortion and reverb. For a slow, heavy sound choose Slow motion, which lowers pitch tape-style so the clip also plays slower. The Pitch slider goes down to −12 semitones, a full octave.
Tape mode changes the playback rate, so higher pitch also means faster and shorter — like speeding up a tape. Keep speed time-stretches the audio first and then resamples it, so pitch changes while the length stays the same. Both move formants with the pitch, which gives the cartoonish character.
No. This tool works on recordings: you record or upload a clip, apply effects, and save the result. Real-time voice changing for calls needs a desktop app or virtual audio device that sits between your microphone and the other program. You can still share the saved WAV anywhere.
Your browser asks for permission the first time you press Record. If you blocked it, click the camera or lock icon in the address bar, allow the microphone for this site and try again. Also check that no other app is using the mic and that the page is loaded over HTTPS.
Any format your browser can decode: MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG/Vorbis, Opus, FLAC and WebM work in current Chrome, Edge and Firefox; Safari handles most of them too. Clips up to 10 minutes are accepted. The output is always a 16-bit WAV at the source sample rate.
Choose the Chipmunk preset. It raises pitch by 8 semitones in Tape mode, so the clip also plays about 1.6 times faster — the classic cartoon effect. If you want the high voice without the speed-up, choose Helium instead, which raises pitch by 7 semitones while keeping the original timing.
Yes. Choose the Reverse preset, or tick Reverse audio in Fine-tune settings to combine it with any other effect — for example reversed speech with reverb for a ghostly sound. The reversal happens before the effects, so echo and reverb tails still trail naturally after each sound.
