Open Trip Budget Breakdown on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Choose your destination at the top: Bangkok, Colombo, Dubai, Goa and 6 more. On a phone it is a drop-down list.
Fill in the trip budget breakdown for that destination; each of the 10 options keeps its own rules, data and defaults.
Read the result, then switch destination to compare. The page link keeps your destination (?v=bangkok), so you can bookmark or share it.
Bangkok, Colombo, Dubai and the rest sit behind one picker, so switching destination takes a tap instead of a new search.
Every destination keeps its own rules, numbers and defaults rather than one generic template.
The link remembers the destination you picked, so a bookmark or a shared link opens straight on it.

On the comfort defaults here — a 4-star room shared two-up, a mix of food courts and restaurants, BTS with occasional Grab rides, and one paid attraction a day — four nights and five days works out near ₹84,000 per person including a return economy fare, a 2% forex markup and a 10% buffer. A backpacker version of the same trip lands closer to ₹38,000 per person, and a riverside five-star version around ₹2 lakh.
A typical Colombo hotel or restaurant bill carries a 10% service charge, a 2.5% Social Security Contribution Levy and 18% VAT, which Sri Lanka raised from 15% on 1 January 2024. Because each is applied to the running total, the combined effect is 1.10 × 1.025 × 1.18 = 1.3305, or about 33% on top of the menu price rather than the 30.5% you would get by adding them. Small eateries, street food and tuk-tuks generally quote inclusive prices, so the gross-up applies mainly to hotels and licensed restaurants.
Four things sit on top of the room rate: a 10% municipality fee, a 10% service charge, 5% VAT calculated on the room plus those two fees, and the Tourism Dirham — a flat per-room, per-night charge. Together the percentages turn a quoted rate into 1.26 times itself, so a 600 AED room costs 756 AED before the Tourism Dirham is even counted.
On the comfort defaults here — a mid-range room shared two-up, cafe and shack meals, a rented scooter and one paid activity a day — four nights works out near ₹39,000 per person including return flights and a 10% buffer, or roughly ₹7,800 per person per day. A backpacker version of the same trip lands closer to ₹19,000 per person, and a beach-resort version well past ₹75,000.
On the comfort defaults here — a 4-star in Sultanahmet or Beyoğlu shared two-up in the busy shoulder season, restaurant meals, four Istanbulkart rides a day and one or two paid sights — four nights and five days works out near ₹1.06 lakh per person including a return economy fare, the e-Visa, a 2% forex markup and a 10% buffer. A hostel-and-lokanta version lands closer to ₹54,000 per person; a Bosphorus 5-star version runs past ₹2.5 lakh.
On the comfort defaults here — a mid-range room shared two-up, cabs, a guide at the forts and the composite plus City Palace tickets — two people spend about ₹60,500 in total, or roughly ₹30,250 each including return travel and a 10% buffer. A hostel-and-autos version of the same three nights comes in nearer ₹15,000 per person.
On the comfort defaults here — a Leh hotel shared two-up in peak season, a private SUV with driver for five touring days, Nubra and Pangong, and two rest days — a seven-day trip works out near ₹80,000 per person including a return Delhi–Leh airfare, permits and a 12% buffer. A guesthouse-and-shared-taxi version lands closer to ₹44,000 per person; a luxury-camp version runs past ₹1.4 lakh. The vehicle is the swing factor: it is charged for the car, so doubling the group roughly halves that line per head.
On the comfort defaults here — a 3-star room shared two-up, one sit-down meal a day, metro travel and a museum pass — two adults come to roughly €2,440 in total, about €1,220 each including return travel and a 10% buffer. A hostel-and-bakery version of the same three nights lands nearer €700 per person, and a 5-star version comfortably passes €2,500 per person.
Rome charges a contributo di soggiorno per person per night, set by accommodation category and typically running from about €4 at a hostel or 1-star up to around €10 at a 5-star. It is capped at 10 consecutive nights at one property, children below 10 are exempt, and it is almost always collected in cash or card at the property rather than by the booking site — so it does not appear in the price you saw online. Rome revises the rates by council resolution, so confirm the figure on your booking confirmation.
It means the price shown is before a 10% service charge and before GST. The service charge is added first, then GST is calculated on the service-inclusive amount, so at the current 9% GST rate a ++ price ends up 1.199 times the number you were shown — a S$100 menu price becomes S$119.90. A price marked "nett" already includes both.
