The Singapore Visa Cover Letter Builder writes the covering letter that accompanies a Form 14A entry visa application and checks the dates that trip people up. It applies the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority rules that matter in practice: a passport valid at least six months from the date of entry, the SGD 30 processing fee per applicant, the five-week entry window on a single or double-journey visa, and the SG Arrival Card submission window, which opens two days before your flight and closes on arrival day. Only nationals of Assessment Level I and II countries need a visa at all.

The letter states plainly that ICA at the checkpoint sets the Short-Term Visit Pass, which the visa does not.

The processing fee is SGD 30 per applicant and is not refunded if the application is unsuccessful. ICA advises applying well ahead of travel — commonly at least a week — because visas are never issued at the checkpoint and processing time varies with volume.
The visa does not set your stay. It lets you travel to a Singapore checkpoint, where an ICA officer issues a Short-Term Visit Pass — commonly up to 30 days for a social visit, and sometimes shorter. To stay longer you request an extension through the ICA e-Service before the pass expires.
Within three days before arrival, counting the day of arrival itself — so the window opens two days before your flight. It is free, submitted online through the ICA website or MyICA app, and applies to visitors regardless of whether they need a visa. Beware paid look-alike sites; the official submission costs nothing.
Form 14A must be submitted electronically by an authorised visa agent, a Singapore Overseas Mission, or a local contact who is a Singapore citizen, permanent resident or eligible pass holder. If you are using a local contact, their identification and particulars form part of the submission, so the details in your cover letter must match theirs exactly.
