Up to 30 days per entry, and the exact expiry is endorsed on the pass by the immigration officer at the counter — that endorsed date governs, not your ticket. Staying longer requires an extension applied for at an Immigration Department office before the pass expires.
A single-entry eVISA is valid for three months from the date of issue, and it lapses at the end of that window whether or not you travelled. Multiple-entry visas, where your nationality qualifies, are issued for three or twelve months, but each individual entry is still limited to a 30-day stay.
Most foreign travellers do, and it is free. Submit it online within three days before arrival, counting the arrival day — so the window opens two days before your flight. Singapore citizens and certain pass and border-pass holders are exempt. Use only the official Immigration Department site; commercial look-alikes charge for a free service.
Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry, with blank pages for the entry and exit stamps. Airlines check this at boarding, so a passport that expires four or five months after your trip can stop you before you leave home.
