About this tool
Draw, type or upload your signature and download it as a transparent PNG, white-background JPG or SVG, trimmed and sized for online forms.
This signature maker gives you three ways to create a signature. Draw it with a mouse, finger or stylus: strokes are smoothed with quadratic curves and get thinner as you move faster, like a real pen, and pressure is used when a stylus reports it. Type your name and choose from the handwriting fonts installed on your device. Or upload a photo of a signature on paper: a luminance threshold removes the paper and leaves transparent ink. The result is trimmed of empty space, fitted to the size you pick and exported as a transparent PNG, a white-background JPG or an SVG. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
Open Signature Maker on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Pick Draw, Type or Upload, and choose an Ink colour such as Black, Blue or Dark blue.
Sign on the pad (adjust the Pen thickness, use Undo if needed), type your name and choose a style, or upload a photo and tune Background removal strength.
In Export choose a Size such as Exam / govt form · 140×60 or Email signature · 400×150, and keep Trim empty space ticked.
Press PNG (transparent), JPG (white) or SVG to download, or Copy image to paste it straight into a document.
Lines are drawn as smoothed curves through your pointer path, with width that responds to speed or stylus pressure. Undo, redo and clear work stroke by stroke.
PNG exports have a transparent background and the empty margin is cropped automatically, so the signature can be placed on any document without a white box around it.
Presets cover 140 × 60 px exam forms, 400 × 150 px email signatures and 1200 × 400 px print, or enter a custom size. Live PNG and JPG file sizes help you stay under upload limits.
The signature is drawn on a canvas in your browser and never sent to a server. Only your preferences, such as ink colour and size preset, are remembered — never the signature itself.
Choose Draw and sign in the box with your mouse, trackpad, finger or stylus, or choose Type and enter your name to see it in several handwriting styles. Then press PNG (transparent) to download it. There is no account, watermark or payment, and the signature is created entirely in your browser.
Any signature you draw or type here is exported as a PNG with a transparent background by default. For a photo of a paper signature, use Upload: the tool turns pixels lighter than the chosen threshold transparent and keeps the ink. Use PNG rather than JPG, because JPG cannot store transparency and always gets a white background.
Download the PNG (transparent) version, or press Copy image. In Word, insert or paste the picture and set text wrapping to In Front of Text so you can drag it onto the signature line. In most PDF editors, use the add image or signature option and pick the PNG file. Keep a high-resolution original for printing.
Many exam and government portals ask for about 140 × 60 pixels in JPG format at 10–20 KB; check the exact rules on the form you are filling in. Choose the Exam / govt form preset or a custom size, download the JPG, and lower JPG quality if the file is still above the limit — the current size is shown before you download.
Yes. Sign with a dark pen on plain white paper, take a well-lit photo without shadows, and upload it. The Auto button picks a threshold between the ink and paper tones; move the slider until paper texture disappears without losing thin strokes. Recolouring the ink removes the blue or yellow tint cameras often add.
In many countries an electronic signature can be legally valid when it shows intent to sign and can be linked to the signer, but rules differ by country and document type, and some documents require a certified digital signature. This tool creates an image of your signature; it does not add cryptographic verification. Check local requirements for important documents.
The Type tab offers handwriting and script fonts that are already installed on your device — for example Segoe Script or Ink Free on Windows, or Snell Roundhand and Bradley Hand on Mac and iPhone — plus your browser's default cursive font. Because the signature is exported as an image, it looks the same wherever you use it.
PNG keeps a transparent background and is best for placing on documents. JPG has a white background and the smallest files, which suits forms with size limits. SVG is a scalable vector: drawn signatures are saved as real curves that stay sharp at any size, while typed and uploaded signatures are traced from the pixels in one colour.
No. Drawing, typing, background removal and export all happen on your device, and there are no network requests for your signature. The tool remembers only settings such as ink colour, pen thickness and size preset in your browser's local storage. Closing or reloading the page clears the signature.
Draw at a steady, natural speed rather than slowly — slow movement records more jitter. A stylus or a phone screen usually gives better results than a mouse. Use a slightly thicker Pen setting, undo individual strokes you don't like, and export at the Original (high-res) size, which renders at three times the pad's resolution.
