About this tool
Write a rent increase notice or a rent agreement renewal notice for a tenant, with dates and terms filled in.
Pick the notice, fill in property and dates and copy it. This page brings together 3 separate rent notice generator pages (Rent agreement renewal, Rent increase, Rent increase letter) so you can compare them without hunting for the right one.
Open Rent Notice Generator on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Choose your notice at the top: Rent agreement renewal, Rent increase. On a phone it is a drop-down list.
Fill in the rent notice generator for that notice; each of the 3 options keeps its own rules, data and defaults.
Read the result, then switch notice to compare. The page link keeps your notice (?v=rent-agreement-renewal), so you can bookmark or share it.
Rent agreement renewal, Rent increase and the rest sit behind one picker, so switching notice takes a tap instead of a new search.
Every notice keeps its own rules, numbers and defaults rather than one generic template.
The link remembers the notice you picked, so a bookmark or a shared link opens straight on it.
3: Rent agreement renewal, Rent increase, Rent increase letter. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=rent-agreement-renewal) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
Because Section 17(1)(d) of the Registration Act, 1908 makes registration compulsory for a lease from year to year, for a term exceeding one year, or reserving a yearly rent. An eleven-month term falls outside that, so the parties avoid registration fees and the stamp duty payable on a registered lease — though the agreement should still be in writing and stamped.
Under Section 9(2) of the Model Tenancy Act, 2021, the landlord must give written notice three months before the revised rent becomes due. Your written agreement can specify a longer period, and States that have adopted the Act with changes may vary it, so check the agreement clause first.
