On the comfort defaults here — a mid-range room shared two-up, cabs, a guide at the forts and the composite plus City Palace tickets — two people spend about ₹60,500 in total, or roughly ₹30,250 each including return travel and a 10% buffer. A hostel-and-autos version of the same three nights comes in nearer ₹15,000 per person.
It is worth it if you will see three or more of the sites it covers. The composite ticket costs ₹300 for Indian nationals and ₹1,000 for foreign nationals, is valid for two consecutive days, and bundles Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall, Nahargarh and other archaeology-department monuments. Amber Fort alone is ₹100 for Indians and ₹500 for foreigners, so two big sites almost pay for it.
No. City Palace is run by the royal family's private trust, not the state archaeology department, so it is ticketed separately and costs several hundred rupees more per person than the government monuments. Budget it as an extra line, and note that the palace's premium interior tours are priced far above the standard entry.
April to June, when daytime temperatures push past 40°C and hotels discount rooms by roughly a third to fill them. The trade-off is that fort sightseeing in that heat is genuinely unpleasant; October to March is the comfortable window and carries peak pricing, with the sharpest surge during the Literature Festival week in late January and around Diwali.
