About this tool
Work out what each gym session really costs once joining fees, add-ons and your actual attendance are counted.
Cost per gym visit is the total cost of a membership term — plan fee, one-off joining fee, recurring add-ons and per-session travel — divided by the sessions you actually attend. This calculator applies that formula across a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual term, and solves the break-even point against a day-pass price using fixed cost divided by drop-in price. The result usually differs sharply from the advertised monthly figure, because attendance, not price, is what decides value.

Joining fee, monthly add-ons and per-visit travel are included, not just the plan price.
Shows the exact number of sessions, and the weekly rate, at which the membership pays for itself.
One glance shows how the price per session collapses or explodes as attendance changes.
Add every cost for the membership term — plan fee, joining fee, monthly add-ons and any per-session spending — then divide by the number of visits in that term. Visits are your weekly attendance multiplied by the weeks in the term, which is 52 weeks for an annual plan.
Divide the fixed cost of the term by the gym's day-pass price to get break-even visits, then divide by the weeks in the term. For example a fixed cost of 27,900 against a 400 day pass breaks even at about 70 visits, which is roughly 1.3 sessions a week over a year.
Only if you keep attending. Annual plans have a lower monthly rate but the money is committed up front, so a drop in attendance after month three raises the cost per session sharply while a monthly plan can be stopped. Run both terms at your realistic attendance before choosing.
If the trip exists only because of the gym, yes — fuel, parking or a fare of 40 per visit adds over 6,000 across 156 sessions in a year. Note that these per-visit costs apply whether you hold a membership or buy day passes, so they do not change the break-even point.
