About this tool
Produce an employer experience certificate with tenure computed per designation, gaps and overlaps flagged, and a verification-ready summary line.
This generator produces an employer experience certificate in which every designation is dated and its duration computed, rather than a blank template you fill in by hand. It walks calendar months with end-of-month clamping so a 31 March promotion date does not drift, counts tenure inclusive of both the joining date and the last working day the way verification agencies read it, and flags any gap or overlap between designations before the letter is issued. Three styles are available: standard, detailed with duties, and a facts-only service certificate.

Duration of each designation in years, months and days, computed rather than typed.
Warns when the designations do not add up to the employment period, which is the error verification teams query.
One line stating name, final designation, dates and tenure — what a verification email actually needs.
The employee's name and employee ID, the exact start and end dates of employment, the designation or designations held with their dates, the nature of employment, and a contact for verification, all on company letterhead with an authorised signature. Salary is normally left out and issued separately as a salary certificate.
No. A relieving letter confirms the date you were relieved and that nothing is pending against you, which is what onboarding teams ask for; an experience or service certificate states tenure, designation and duties, and is the document that supports your CV. Ask the employer for both, since one does not substitute for the other.
There is no single central statute, but several state Shops and Establishments Acts require the employer to give a service certificate stating the period of employment and the nature of the work when employment ends. Check the Act that applies to your establishment, and raise a refusal with the jurisdictional Labour Commissioner rather than treating it as a purely private matter.
Inclusive of both the joining date and the last working day, so 15 June 2019 to 31 August 2026 is 7 years, 2 months and 16 days, or 2,635 days. Verification agencies compare that figure against payroll and provident fund records, so the designations listed on the certificate should add up to exactly the same period.
