About this tool
Build a formatted consumer complaint from your facts, the relief sought and evidence.
Consumer Complaint Draft Builder turns seven inputs — your name, the business, the transaction date, the amount paid in rupees, the facts in date order, the relief you want and the evidence you hold — into an eight-section complaint draft with complainant, opposite party, transaction, facts, deficiency, relief, evidence index and verification headings. It is for shoppers and service users in India who know what went wrong but not how to lay it out. The output is an organised draft for you or an advocate to check, not legal advice or a guaranteed filing format.
Open Consumer Complaint Draft Builder on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Fill the seven fields — Consumer name, Business / service provider, Purchase / service date, Amount paid (₹), Facts in date order, Relief requested and Evidence available — or load the Damaged delivery preset.
The draft rebuilds as you type, formatting the amount in Indian rupees and laying out eight labelled sections: Complainant, Opposite party, Transaction, Facts, Deficiency / grievance, Relief requested, Evidence index and Verification.
Take the draft away with the Copy or Download icon buttons; Reset first asks "Reset all fields? This clears your Facts, Relief and Evidence text and cannot be undone."
The draft keeps the narrative of what happened apart from what you are asking for, which is how complaint formats are normally read.
The amount paid is rendered in Indian currency formatting, so the transaction line matches the figure on your invoice.
The last section reminds you to re-check dates, amounts, names and annexures before anything is submitted anywhere.
No — it produces an organised draft, not a filing-ready document. Jurisdiction, the limitation period, pecuniary limits, verification and affidavit requirements and portal formats all vary, so have an advocate or a consumer helpline volunteer review it before you submit.
Under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, a complaint must generally be filed within two years of the date the cause of action arose. A commission can condone delay beyond that if you record sufficient reasons, but you should not rely on it — write your facts with dates so the two-year clock is visible.
Only what happened, in date order, with no argument or adjectives. Each line should be something you can prove from the evidence index — the order date, the delivery date, the date support refused your request — because that is what the deficiency claim is built on.
That depends on the value of the goods or services paid plus the compensation claimed, which decides whether the District, State or National Commission has pecuniary jurisdiction; territorial jurisdiction usually follows where you reside or where the opposite party operates. The notified ceilings have been revised more than once, so check the current limits on the National Consumer Helpline or e-Daakhil before filing.
