About this tool
Happy birthday wishes in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu, Odia and Nepali for family and friends.
Birthday wishes in 12 Indian languages. Pick a language and relation, then copy a heartfelt or funny wish written natively for that language. This page brings together 12 separate birthday wishes generator pages (Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu) so you can compare them without hunting for the right one.
Open Birthday Wishes Generator on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Choose your language at the top: Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada and 8 more. On a phone it is a drop-down list.
Fill in the birthday wishes generator for that language; each of the 12 options keeps its own rules, data and defaults.
Read the result, then switch language to compare. The page link keeps your language (?v=bengali), so you can bookmark or share it.
Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi and the rest sit behind one picker, so switching language takes a tap instead of a new search.
Every language keeps its own rules, numbers and defaults rather than one generic template.
The link remembers the language you picked, so a bookmark or a shared link opens straight on it.
12: Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu. Pick one at the top of the tool; the page link updates (for example ?v=bengali) so you can bookmark or share that exact view.
শুভ জন্মদিন (shubho jonmodin) is the direct equivalent, and জন্মদিনের অনেক শুভেচ্ছা (jonmodiner onek shubhechchha), 'many birthday wishes', is the warmer everyday phrase. Both are used in West Bengal and Bangladesh.
The everyday forms are જન્મદિવસની હાર્દિક શુભેચ્છા (janmadivasnī hārdik shubhecchā), literally 'heartfelt birthday wishes', and જન્મદિન મુબારક (janmadin mubārak), which is the more casual, Urdu-derived phrasing you will hear among friends. A formal card usually opens with શુભેચ્છા rather than મુબારક.
The two everyday forms are जन्मदिन की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ (janmadin kī hārdik shubhkāmnāeṁ), literally 'heartfelt birthday wishes', and जन्मदिन मुबारक हो (janmadin mubārak ho). For 'many happy returns', Hindi speakers say जन्मदिन की बहुत-बहुत बधाई.
The everyday phrase is ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಬ್ಬದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು (huṭṭuhabbada shubhāshayagaḷu), literally 'birthday good wishes'. Add ಹಾರ್ದಿಕ (hārdika, heartfelt) for warmth: ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಬ್ಬದ ಹಾರ್ದಿಕ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು. ಜನ್ಮದಿನದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು (janmadinada shubhāshayagaḷu) is the more Sanskritised alternative and suits printed cards and formal notes.
The two everyday forms are ജന്മദിനാശംസകൾ (janmadināśaṁsakaḷ), literally 'birthday wishes', and പിറന്നാൾ ആശംസകൾ (piṟannāḷ āśaṁsakaḷ), which uses the more homely word പിറന്നാൾ for a birthday. For a warmer version, put ഹൃദയം നിറഞ്ഞ (hr̥dayaṁ niṟañña, 'heartfelt') in front.
वाढदिवसाच्या हार्दिक शुभेच्छा (vāḍhadivasācyā hārdik shubhecchā) — literally 'heartfelt wishes on your birthday' — is the standard phrase. जन्मदिनाच्या शुभेच्छा is the slightly more formal alternative, and जन्मदिनाच्या लाख लाख शुभेच्छा is the warm, emphatic version.
The standard phrase is 'जन्मदिनको हार्दिक शुभकामना' (janmadinko hardik shubhakamana), meaning heartfelt birthday wishes. 'शुभ जन्मदिन' (subha janmadin) is the shorter, more literal 'happy birthday'.
The usual phrase is 'ଜନ୍ମଦିନର ହାର୍ଦ୍ଦିକ ଶୁଭେଚ୍ଛା' (janmadinara hardika shubhechha), meaning heartfelt birthday wishes. 'ଶୁଭ ଜନ୍ମଦିନ' (subha janmadina) is the shorter equivalent of 'happy birthday'.
The most common phrase is 'ਜਨਮਦਿਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੱਖ ਲੱਖ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ' (janamdin diyan lakh lakh vadhaiyan), literally 'a hundred thousand congratulations on your birthday'. Shorter alternatives are 'ਜਨਮਦਿਨ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ' (janamdin mubarak) and 'ਸਾਲਗਿਰਾਹ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ' (saalgirah mubarak).
பிறந்தநாள் வாழ்த்துக்கள் (piṟantanāḷ vāḻttukkaḷ) is the everyday phrase, and இனிய பிறந்தநாள் நல்வாழ்த்துக்கள் (iniya piṟantanāḷ nalvāḻttukkaḷ) is the fuller, warmer version used on cards and posters.
