Create your Rabbit Hole account and finish first-time setup

Every Rabbit R1 pairs with a free companion account called Rabbit Hole, created during first boot, where you connect third-party apps and review what your device has done on your behalf.

What you should know

  • On first power-on, the R1 walks you through choosing a Wi-Fi network and creating (or signing into) your Rabbit Hole account.
  • Rabbit Hole is also available from any browser at hole.rabbit.tech, where you can revisit setup steps or manage your account from a computer.
  • Connecting accounts (music, rides, food delivery, and similar apps) happens inside Rabbit Hole — the Large Action Model (LAM) uses these connections to carry out actions you ask for on the device.
  • Keep the email address used to create your Rabbit Hole account handy, since it's how you sign back in if you ever reset the device.

Use a strong, unique password for your Rabbit Hole account — it controls the third-party services (like music or delivery apps) your R1 is allowed to act on your behalf.

Why it matters

Rabbit Hole is the account layer behind the R1 — without it the device can't sync your connected apps or let you review its interaction history. Setting it up correctly the first time avoids re-pairing the device later.

Best practices

  • Finish account creation and Wi-Fi setup in one sitting so the device is fully activated before you rely on it.
  • Use an email address you check regularly, since Rabbit Hole is where account and security notices arrive.

Common problems and fixes

Setup screen doesn't advance past the Wi-Fi step
Double-check the Wi-Fi password, move the R1 closer to the router, and retry selecting the network.
Can't remember which email was used for Rabbit Hole
Go to hole.rabbit.tech from any browser and use the sign-in help or account recovery option.

Tips and tricks

  • Bookmark hole.rabbit.tech on your phone or laptop — it's the fastest way to connect a new app or check what the R1 has done without picking up the device.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a smartphone to set up the R1?
