Personal security checkup

Answer 24 questions about your passwords, sign-in protection, devices, scam habits, privacy and home network. Each answer is weighted by how much it reduces real-world risk, so the score reflects what matters, and the checkup always shows the single most valuable thing to do next. The five steps with the biggest payoff

  • Turn on two-factor authentication for your main email account.
  • Use a password manager and give every important account its own password.
  • Switch on automatic updates for your phone, computer and browser.
  • Never share OTPs, UPI PINs or your screen with someone who called you.
  • Back up important files and test that you can restore them.

How the score works

High-impact habits count three points, medium ones two and good hygiene one, out of 47 in total. The score is the share of points you have; the next step is the unchecked item with the highest weight. It is a self-assessment that helps you prioritise, not an audit of your accounts.

Personal security checkup: questions and answers

Are my checkup answers sent anywhere?

No. They are stored in your browser's local storage on this device only. Use the reset button to clear them.

How often should I do a security checkup?

Every six months, and after any big change such as a new phone, a breach notice or a new job.

What is a good security score?

Cover the eight high-impact items first; they are worth about half the points and stop most account takeovers and scams. Above 80% means the important habits are in place.

Is this checkup suitable for a small business?

It covers the personal basics every employee needs. For business systems, add the website check and the developer tools in the directory below.
