AI stack for students: common questions

Is using AI for homework cheating?

It depends on your school and the task. Using AI to explain a topic or check grammar is usually fine; submitting AI-written work as your own usually is not. When in doubt, ask your teacher and say how you used it.

Which AI tools are free for students?

NotebookLM, Semantic Scholar and ChatGPT's free plan cost nothing, and Grammarly, QuillBot, Quizlet, Gamma and Canva all have free tiers. Some vendors also offer student discounts on paid plans.

Can I trust AI answers for my essay?

Not on their own. Chatbots can state wrong facts confidently. Use them to understand a topic, then confirm every fact and quote against a real source you can cite.
