For the small mechanical jobs people open Canva for — resize an image, remove a background, build a quick graphic — free tools with no account and no watermarked premium elements.

Canva is not really a comparison; it is a design platform with a stock library, brand kits, team approvals and saved, versioned documents. Nothing here replaces that. What this page is about is the narrower case: you opened Canva to resize a banner, strip a background or lay out a two-image collage, and hit a Pro-only tool or a watermarked element. Those specific jobs run fine in a browser tab. If you are actually designing — with templates, assets and a team — keep Canva.
