Complete Ashta Koota Guna Milan — evaluates all 8 categories (Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot, Nadi) out of 36 gunas. Uses real planetary calculations.
Ashtakoot Matching scores two birth details against the eight koota of Vedic Guna Milan — Varna 1, Vashya 2, Tara 3, Yoni 4, Graha Maitri 5, Gana 6, Bhakoot 7 and Nadi 8 — for a total out of 36 gunas. It derives each person's Moon nakshatra, pada and rashi from a computed sidereal Moon longitude rather than asking you to look them up, dividing the zodiac into 27 nakshatras of 13°20' each and four padas of 3°20'. The conventional reading it applies is that 18 or more out of 36 is considered a match, with 24+ labelled Very Good and 30+ Excellent.

Fill in the Person 1 and Person 2 cards side by side: Name (up to 50 characters), then Day, Month and Year of birth. Birth Time is optional and takes the HH:MM (24h IST) format, and the Latitude and Longitude fields start on Delhi's 28.6139 and 77.209.

The score card headline reads verdict, match percentage and total — Excellent, Very Good, Good or Low followed by the score out of 36 — and the dial under it is labelled Highly Auspicious, Very Good Match, Qualifies for Marriage or Below Threshold against the minimum 18/36 guna requirement.
Below that each partner's panel gives their nakshatra with pada plus Moon and Sun rashi, and the Koota Breakdown grid scores all eight kootas separately: Varna out of 1, Vashya 2, Tara 3, Yoni 4, Graha Maitri 5, Gana 6, Bhakoot 7 and Nadi 8.
Every koota is shown with its own score and maximum, so a total is traceable to the categories that produced it rather than presented as a bare number.
Nakshatra, pada and Moon rashi are derived from the birth date and time through a sidereal longitude calculation, so you do not need to know your nakshatra in advance.
Each person's nakshatra, pada, Moon rashi and Sun rashi are listed, which is the context that makes an individual koota score interpretable.
By the common convention this tool applies, 18 or more out of 36 is treated as compatible: 18-23 is Good, 24-29 Very Good and 30 or above Excellent. Below 18 is reported as Low. Different traditions and astrologers set the bar differently and weigh individual doshas separately.
Varna carries 1 point, Vashya 2, Tara 3, Yoni 4, Graha Maitri 5, Gana 6, Bhakoot 7 and Nadi 8, adding to 36. Because Bhakoot and Nadi are all-or-nothing in the classical rules, those two alone account for 15 points and dominate most low scores.
Nadi koota awards 8 points when the two nakshatras fall in different nadis and 0 when they share the same nadi — the condition usually called Nadi dosha. Losing all 8 points makes it arithmetically impossible to exceed 28 out of 36.
It matters, because the Moon moves roughly 13 degrees a day, so it can cross a nakshatra boundary in about a day and a pada boundary in about six hours. Times entered here are interpreted as Indian Standard Time (UTC+5:30) and the positions use an approximate ephemeris, so treat the result as an informational reference for tradition and consult a qualified astrologer, and a counsellor for the relationship decision itself.
