About this tool
Learn a Telugu word daily with its script, romanisation, meaning, everyday usage example and a browser-saved streak.
A Telugu word-of-the-day deck of 30 curated words, each with its Telugu script spelling, a romanised reading, the part of speech, an everyday example sentence and a note on the idiom or origin behind it. The card is chosen by the calendar date rather than at random, so the same date always shows the same word and you can look at any past or future day. The streak counter lives only in your browser.
Open Telugu Word of the Day on AltFTool — it loads instantly in your browser.
Paste or type the text you're working with.
Choose how it should be transformed or analyzed.
Copy the finished text into your document or post.
Notes give the fixed phrase the word normally appears in, which is how it is actually used.
Every headword and example is given in Telugu script and in roman.
The deck rotates by calendar date, so a study group can follow the same card without coordinating.
The vocabulary overlap is real — a large share of formal Telugu vocabulary comes from Sanskrit, so words like శాంతి and ధైర్యం are immediately familiar. The grammar is the harder part: Telugu is Dravidian, strongly agglutinative, and builds long words by stacking suffixes.
'Please' is దయచేసి (dayachēsi), literally 'having shown compassion'. For thanks, Telugu speakers usually say కృతజ్ఞతలు (kr̥tajñatalu) in the plural, or simply use the English 'thanks' in casual speech.
Yes. The card is determined by the number of days since 1 January 1970 divided by the size of the deck, so it does not depend on your device, browser or timezone.
Only in this browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server, so clearing site data or switching device resets it.
